A lot of these Marines were resocialized criminals back during the times of the Confederacy, but now it's a combination of volunteers and criminals/rebels who have been resocialized and now defend the new Terran Dominion with their life. Some basic equipment/skills the Marine has that make it such an affordable and valuable asset to the Dominion are:
•Their heavy armor suit vs. small-arms fire; 'NBC' (Nuclear , Biological , Chemical protection for deep space operation)
•Ballistic Alloy combat shields increase the average Marine Life expectancy.
•Reapers Jet Packs allowing the Terran Reaper an amazing amount of mobility that is yet to be surpassed by any other ground unit. The Repear is the most versatile infantry unit.
•Reapers are given the Stim Pack ability
•Repears have been given the option to upgrade to use "D-8 Charges" that can be thrown a short distance and then detonate, just like a grenade.
The New Terran Ghosts have also been outfitted by the Dominion:
•They can use their mana to increase their agility, strength, and endurance.
ªThey have specializied skin suits laced with psi-sensitive artificial muscle fiber making them very tough infantry units.
ªThey can call down "drop-pods" - These are filled with infantry used for surprise assaults, and still have the ability to use Nuclear Strike and Cloak.
